About

Welcome to Trykket Flowers!

I am so happy you are here.

I am Lexi, the creator and artist behind Trykket Flowers.

The name Trykket is pronounced TRIH-kit.

It is Norwegian for "pressed" and is a tribute to my great-grandmother, who was born in Norway and brought to South Dakota as a newborn.  She was a tough and creative woman who passed away at the age of ninety-nine, and it's her spirit that inspired me to name my business in her honor.

I am a born and raised South Dakotan and am rooted in Sioux Falls.
My love for flowers was planted early in my childhood.

At the age of 4, I started taking dance lessons, and it is safe to say that receiving flowers after my recitals played a large part in growing my love for them.  I danced for 14 more years and was involved in choir and theater, as well.  (All presented great opportunities to be gifted flowers!)

I graduated from South Dakota State university with a degree in Business Economics, and pursued a “traditional job” out of college, yet, my love for the fine arts and being hands-on eventually drew me to the floral and wedding industries.

Before I started planning for my 2021 wedding, I knew I wanted to do something special with my flowers.  I researched the various forms of preservation and found the greatest results and advantages to be with pressed flowers.  As I learned how to properly preserve flowers, I decided I could not just keep this art to myself.

I knew in my heart that I needed to make this art available to the sentimentalists in my area, which led me to create Trykket Flowers.

In my work, I’m able to share my love of creating beautiful artwork that preserves your memories.   If you have the desire to preserve your flowers, I’d be honored to serve you.   Let me care for your memories like they’re my own, so that you can simply be present in the midst of your respective life event.

There are an infinite number of reasons to save special flowers.  In addition to “just because,” here are some of the events and memories I have had the opportunity to preserve:

Thank you for getting to know my backstory and the origins of Trykket Flowers.
